Open the Sprite Checklist →What Is the Cheat Master Variant?
Cheat Master is the brand-new Sprite variant introduced in Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override" — the season's signature collectible look, replacing the Gummy/Galaxy/Gem lineup of the Season 3 generation. A Cheat Master Sprite is the same creature re-rendered in glowing green Matrix-style code-rain, as if the Sprite had been rewritten by the season's reality-bending Override theme. Every launch Sprite in the Season 4 roster has a Cheat Master form, from Cheat Master Bush to Cheat Master Klombo.
The variant ties directly into Season 4's Cheat Code mechanic — its bonus makes all Cheat Code inputs count as correct, meaning a Cheat Master carrier never fumbles a code entry. Like every variant bonus, it stacks on top of the Sprite's own ability: a Cheat Master Sonic still boosts sprint speed, a Cheat Master Jonesy still heals you. The variant changes the look and adds the perk; the soul of the Sprite stays the same.
How to Get Cheat Master Sprites
Cheat Master Sprites are found and collected exactly like every other variant: they appear in chests, supply drops and out in the world during Battle Royale matches, and you must extract before the match ends to keep one. You do not craft or upgrade into the variant — a Cheat Master Sprite drops as a Cheat Master Sprite, and extracting it adds that specific row to your collection and your Sprite Garden permanently.
Epic has not published drop rates for any Season 4 row yet, Cheat Master included, so this page shows verified empty rates rather than guesses. If the Season 3 pattern repeats, special variants will be meaningfully rarer than Normal forms — which would make the full 11-Sprite Cheat Master set one of the longest-term collection goals of the season. Rates get added here the day they are real.
Cheat Master vs Gold vs Normal
Season 4's three-variant system is the simplest Sprites have had: Normal is the base creature with its ability alone; Gold adds bonus Sprite XP from eliminations and classic golden flash; Cheat Master adds the Cheat Code perk and the code-rain look. Because the underlying ability never changes, choosing which variant to summon is about the bonus and the flex — there is no wrong pick, only a missing checkbox.
For collectors, the practical difference is scarcity and theme. Gold returns from the Season 3 generation as the familiar premium tier, while Cheat Master is this season's identity — the variant that will forever mark a collection as an Override-era one. Completionists need all three rows for every Sprite: 33 released rows across the 11 verified launch Sprites, with Storm Scout's three rows joining the count once its release is verified in-game.
Tracking the Full Cheat Master Set
Eleven verified Sprites currently have a Cheat Master form: Bush, Adventure, Jonesy, 8-Bit, Shadow, Tails, Killswitch, Sonic, Jackrabbit, Klombo and Crown. The hardest chases will be the top of the rarity ladder — a Cheat Master Klombo or Cheat Master Crown combines the Mythic find rate with a special-variant roll, making them the crown jewels of the Override generation.
The free Sprite Checklist tracks every Cheat Master row independently, exactly matching the in-game collection screen, with a Missing filter that shows precisely which code-rain creatures you still owe your Sprite Garden. Tick them off as you extract, share your board with friends, and watch the green set fill in as the season unfolds.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Cheat Master Sprite variant in Fortnite?
Cheat Master is Chapter 7 Season 4's new Sprite variant: the same Sprite re-rendered in glowing green Matrix code-rain, carrying a bonus that makes all Cheat Code inputs count as correct — stacked on top of the Sprite's normal ability.
How do I get Cheat Master Sprites?
Find them in matches like any variant — chests, supply drops and world spawns — and extract before the match ends. They drop directly as Cheat Master forms; there is no crafting or upgrading into the variant.
How many Cheat Master Sprites are there?
Eleven verified Sprites have Cheat Master forms right now — the full Season 4 launch roster from Bush to Crown. Storm Scout's Cheat Master row joins the count once its in-game release is verified.
What does the Cheat Master bonus do?
All Cheat Code inputs count as correct while you carry a Cheat Master Sprite — you can never fumble a code entry. The Sprite's own ability works unchanged alongside it.
Are Cheat Master Sprites rarer than Normal ones?
Epic has not published Season 4 drop rates yet, so this is unconfirmed. In the Season 3 generation, special variants were significantly rarer than Normal forms; we will show verified Cheat Master rates the day they exist.
