Your collection data

The Sprite Checklist works without an account. The Sprites you mark as collected or mastered are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device — they are never uploaded to a server or tied to your identity. Clearing your browser data, or using a different device, will reset your progress unless you carry it over yourself with a share link or backup code.

Share links and backup codes

Share links and backup codes encode only which Sprites are checked off, in an anonymous, compressed form. They contain no personal information. Anyone you send a link to can view that collection; only share it if you are comfortable with that.

Cloud Sync accounts (optional)

Cloud Sync is optional. If you choose to sync your collection across devices, you sign in with Google and unlock sync with a one-time $3.99 purchase — only then do we store any account data. Everyone else keeps using the checklist with no sign-in and no server-side data, exactly as described above.

For a synced account we store only what sync needs: your Google account identifier and email address (provided by Google when you sign in), your Sprite collection, a record of your one-time purchase, and the country your network reports (a two-letter code only — we never see or store your IP address or precise location), which we use for aggregate statistics. We never receive or store your Google password. Payment is handled by our merchant-of-record payment provider; we do not receive or store your card details.

You can download or delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account page — deletion is immediate and removes your collection, sign-in records and purchase record.

Analytics

We use a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool (Plausible) to understand aggregate traffic — for example, how many people visit a page. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and does not collect personal data. We may record anonymous events such as a PWA install, with no personal identifiers.

Advertising

We may show ads served by Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies (which may collect your IP address and other identifiers) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. Where required (for example in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), we will ask for your consent before advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.

Third-party content

Pages may embed a YouTube video and load web fonts from Google Fonts. When you play an embedded video, YouTube may set its own cookies under its privacy policy. Apart from the advertising described above, we do not sell any data.

Children

This tool is not directed at children under 13. The checklist itself needs no sign-up and collects no personal data. The optional Cloud Sync features — signing in and the one-time purchase — are only for users aged 13 or older; if you are under 18 you must have a parent's or guardian's permission, including for any purchase. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not permit interest-based advertising to be targeted at children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information or made a purchase without permission, contact us and we will delete the data and refund the purchase where appropriate.
