Klombo Is Back — as a Mythic Sprite

Fortnite's most beloved dinosaur has been miniaturized. The Klombo Sprite brings the gentle giant of Chapter 3 back to the game as one of two Mythic Sprites in the Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override" launch roster — and its ability set is the most unusual in the entire generation. Klombo grants you random items at each level it gains, and it levels up only by consuming items. Feed the little dinosaur your spare loot, and it burps better loot back; the quality of what it grants increases with each level.

This makes Klombo the only Sprite whose progression you directly control. Every other Season 4 Sprite levels through normal Sprite XP; Klombo levels when you decide your third shotgun is dinner. That turns inventory management into a feeding economy — trash pickups stop being floor clutter and start being Klombo food, and a well-fed Klombo becomes a personal slot machine that pays out in escalating rarity.

How to Get the Klombo Sprite

Here is the honest part: Klombo is very rare. It is spotted near high and mountainous areas of the Season 4 island, and like all Override Sprites it can also appear in chests and supply drops — but as a Mythic, sightings are scarce and a wild Klombo encounter is an event, not a routine. When you do find one, nothing matters more than the extraction rule: you must extract before the match ends, or the rarest find of your season evaporates. Extract successfully and Klombo is permanently yours — collection, Sprite Garden and future summons included.

Epic has not published drop rates for the Season 4 generation, so no percentage is shown for Klombo; the rate column stays verified-empty until real numbers exist. If last season's pattern holds, the Mythic tier will carry the longest odds in the roster — which is exactly why extracting one is the bragging right of the Override season.

Klombo Sprite Variants: Normal, Gold and Cheat Master

Klombo comes in the season's three variants: Normal, Gold and Cheat Master, all sharing the feed-to-level ability. Gold Klombo stacks bonus Sprite XP from eliminations on top of the feeding loop, and Cheat Master Klombo re-skins the dinosaur in glowing green Matrix code-rain for the season's Cheat Code theme — a code-rain Klombo may be the single most collectible image in the entire Override roster.

Completing all three Klombo rows is arguably the hardest collection goal of the season given the Mythic find rate. The free Sprite Checklist tracks each variant separately, exactly like the in-game collection screen, and its Missing filter will tell you — probably for many weeks — that a Klombo variant is still out there.

Is the Klombo Sprite Worth Using?

Klombo is the fun-per-match king of Season 4, and sneakily strong too. The random item grants scale in quality with level, so a deliberately fed Klombo showers you with increasingly good loot across a match — a second income stream layered on normal looting. In squads, a Klombo player becomes the team's quartermaster, converting the squad's collective floor loot into upgrades.

The trade-off is agency: unlike the Crown Sprite's win-driven grind, Klombo asks you to spend inventory slots and time feeding it, and its payouts are random. Some matches it hands you gold; some matches it hands you fish. But that is Klombo — the community did not fall in love with the dinosaur for its efficiency. As a permanent Sprite Garden resident, it is the Override generation's heart, and the first Mythic most collectors will genuinely celebrate extracting.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Klombo Sprite do in Fortnite?

Klombo grants you random items at each level it gains — and it levels up only by consuming items you feed it. Item quality increases with each level, so a well-fed Klombo pays out escalating loot.

How rare is the Klombo Sprite?

Klombo is one of only two Mythic Sprites in the Season 4 launch roster (with Crown) and is described as very rare — spotted near high and mountainous areas, with chest and supply-drop finds possible like all Override Sprites.

How do I level up the Klombo Sprite?

Feed it: Klombo levels only by consuming items. Spare weapons and floor loot become Klombo food, and each level improves the quality of the items it grants back.

Is this the same Klombo from Chapter 3?

It is the same beloved dinosaur, returned in Sprite form for Chapter 7 Season 4. The giant roaming Klombos of Chapter 3 are now a Mythic companion that travels with you.

What variants does the Klombo Sprite have?

Normal, Gold and Cheat Master. Gold adds bonus Sprite XP from eliminations; Cheat Master is the Season 4 Matrix-code variant. Completing all three is one of the season's toughest goals.

What is the Klombo Sprite's drop rate?

Epic has not published Season 4 drop rates yet. We show a verified empty state instead of a guess and add real numbers the day they are published.
