How Many Sprites Are There in Fortnite?

Original glowing collectible spirits displayed on pedestals in a dark gallery

As of 2026-08-27, there are 11 base Sprites and 33 released variant rows (165 mastery levels) in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override.” The archived Season 3 roster is kept separate so the current total stays meaningful.

The verified Sprite count

The current checklist contains 33 released variant rows across 11 obtainable Season 4 Sprites. Each released Sprite has Normal, Gold, and Cheat Master forms. Storm Scout is present in the source data as a candidate, but stays outside the completion denominator until its in-game release is independently confirmed. The Season 3 checklist remains available without inflating this count.

Released variants by type

Each base Sprite can appear in up to seven special forms, and Epic releases those forms in waves — which is why the total keeps moving even in weeks with no brand-new Sprite. This is the current released breakdown:

Variant typeReleased rows
Normal Sprite variant example Normal (base Sprites) 11
Gold Sprite variant example Gold Sprites 11
Cheat Master Sprite variant example Cheat Master Sprites 11
Total released variant rows33

Season 4 uses three forms: Normal, Gold, and Cheat Master. See the variant comparison for each bonus. Drop rates are shown as unpublished until Epic or an independently verified in-game source provides real values.

How the count has grown

  • v42.00 (2026-08-20): added Bush, Adventure, Jonesy, 8-Bit, Shadow, Tails, Killswitch, Sonic, Jackrabbit, Klombo, Crown.

All currently released Season 4 Sprites were added with v42.00. Future verified roster changes will appear here automatically; What's New records each change.

Why the number keeps changing

New Sprites can appear, candidates can be delayed, and variant availability can change. A static article quickly goes stale, so this page recalculates from the same release-gated roster as the tracker. Unconfirmed entries never reduce your completion percentage.

How we verify this count

Every week we cross-check the roster against the live game and multiple sources: in-game collection screens, Epic's patch notes, and community datamines. Drop rates and variant availability are verified against the game's own published rates, and anything that sources disagree on is checked in-game before it is counted. If a variant is disabled or delayed, it is moved out of the released count the same day. The result is a number you can cite — with a visible “last updated” date and patch number, not a guess.

Frequently asked questions

How many Sprites are there in Fortnite right now?

There are 11 base Sprites and 33 released variant rows as of 2026-08-27 (patch v42.00).

Why do some sites show a different number?

This page counts the 11 Season 4 Sprites verified as obtainable and their 33 released Normal, Gold, and Cheat Master rows. The separate Season 3 checklist is not mixed into current-season completion.

Does Epic add more Sprites?

Yes. The roster can change during the season, so this page is generated from the same dated dataset as the checklist.

Do unreleased variants count toward completion?

No. This count — and the checklist — only includes variants that are actually obtainable in the game today, so your completion percentage is never diluted by content you cannot collect yet.
